VISITING THE SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS OPERATIONS ROOM
By Admin
I went to the Southern Volunteers Operations Room at the Johor SUKMA Secretariat at Nusajaya Centre today. The visit was in conjunction with the activation of the Southern Volunteers Post-Flood Squad, where teams of SV volunteers will be deployed to affected areas to assist flood victims in efforts to clean up their homes.
Since the end of December 2021, Southern Volunteers have been mobilised to assist in post-flood operations in Selangor and Pahang. Apart from the clean-up work, they have also donated basic necessities to the flood victims.
In Johor, I have reminded the Southern Volunteers to make early preparations for flood disasters and assist government agencies to evacuate flood victims to Flood Relief Centres (PPS) and assist in the management of the PPS in terms of distribution of essential goods.
The Southern Volunteers have now begun post-flood clean-up operations in all districts in Johor affected by the floods.
I would like to say well done and congratulations to the Southern Volunteers for their relief efforts so far and I hope they continue their good efforts to help the rakyat in these challenging times. This is the spirit of volunteerism that I want to cultivate among the Johor youth and this will benefit not only to the youth but also to the whole society.
Allah Peliharakan Sultan.
