KING OF MALAYSIA GIVEN A ROYAL WELCOME DURING STATE VISIT TO SAUDI ARABIA

His Majesty King of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim was accorded a state welcome at the Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh in conjunction with His Majesty’s state visit to Saudi Arabia.

His Majesty arrived at 1.30 p.m. local Saudi time (6.30 p.m. Malaysian time) and was warmly received by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The national anthems of Malaysia and Saudi Arabia were played as a mark of respect before His Majesty, accompanied by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, proceeded into the palace and inspected the guard of honour.

Following the State Welcome Ceremony, an official meeting was held between Sultan Ibrahim and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Accompanying His Majesty were His Highness Tunku Idris Iskandar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the Tunku Temenggong of Johor, and His Highness Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, the Tunku Panglima of Johor.

Also present were Defence Minister and accompanying minister YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin; Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin; Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Tan Sri Dato’ Dr. Azmi Rohani; and Malaysian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dato’ Syed Mohamed Bakri Syed Abdul Rahman.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also hosted His Majesty at a state banquet attended by other distinguished guests.

His Majesty said the meeting with the Crown Prince was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere and covered a wide range of topics.

“This was our first meeting, and the Crown Prince demonstrated deep knowledge on the many matters we discussed.

“I also shared several views, particularly on the importance of consistent government policies and international relations.

“Consistent policies will promote stability in bilateral relations and build investor confidence in a country,” His Majesty told the Royal Press Office (RPO).

The King of Malaysia also praised Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, an effort to advance the Holy Land nation to greater heights through economic diversification, people empowerment, and the creation of a vibrant environment for investors.
