INSTRUCTIONS FOR ENSURING PREPAREDNESS IN FLOOD MITIGATION EFFORTS AND PROVISION OF AID

According to early weather forecast, Johor is expected to experience floods starting 1 January. I have instructed government agencies and district offices to ensure they are prepared to act quick in flood mitigation efforts and providing help for people in need.I have also instructed the Southern Volunteers to be deployed to help district offices and relevant agencies to ensure nobody is left behind in efforts to assist flood victims.I will continue to monitor the situation in Johor and ensure all help will be provided for the people in Johor affected by it. PREPARATION IN THE EVENT OF FLOODS

I have received reports of the weather forecast and water levels at several rivers in Johor. I have decreed all district and government agency officers in Johor to ensure all machinery, equipment and preparations are on standby and ready to be deployed anytime. AID FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN MELAKA

Those affected by the floods in Melaka received help yesterday. Johor agencies will go to Shah Alam today and then to Hulu Langat and Pahang tomorrow. Hopefully this aid will lighten the burden of those affected.
