JOHOR ROYAL FAMILY CONTRIBUTES OVER RM123 MILLION DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the Chief Minister of Johor, stated that during the COVID-19 pandemic period alone, the Johor Royal Family contributed more than RM123 million, encompassing various types of donations to assist around 1.6 million Johor citizens facing challenges during the pandemic.
Datuk Onn Hafiz mentioned that even His Majesty the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, was willing to take risks by instructing palace officials to go out into the field to provide aid in the form of kits and healthcare equipment for the welfare of the people.
“Not only that, the Johor also Royal Family is always at the forefront in disaster relief missions, including floods, storms, fires, aid for the needy, education assistance, healthcare aid, as well as advocating for and protecting the rights of women and children.”
“Through the generosity and care of His Majesty the Sultan of Johor and the Johor Royal Family, a close symbiotic relationship is formed between the Palace and the common people,” he said.
Datuk Onn Hafiz made these remarks during a speech at the award ceremony for the Royal Johor Foundations, the launch of a book, and the Johor Sultanate portal. The event took place at the Persada International Convention Centre in Johor Bahru on July 5, 2023.
Datuk Onn Hafiz also expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan of Johor for his personal contributions and aid through the Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) to all Johoreans.
“I also humbly express our highest gratitude to Her Majesty the Permaisuri of Johor for her personal contributions and aid through the Raja Zarith Sofiah Johor State Foundation and the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation.”
“I also want to extend our utmost gratitude to His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Johor for his personal contributions to the people of Johor,” he said.
He stated that the brilliance and distinction of the Johor Royal Family have been present since ancient times.
“Leadership like this is ingrained in the nature and has been the pulse of Johor since the modern Johor Sultanate administration, because Johor is Johor, and Johor Must Prevail,” he stated.
During the event, Datuk Onn Hafiz also announced funds from the State Government for each of the Royal Johor Foundations.
The Sultan Ibrahim Johor Foundation (YSIJ) received a sum of RM3 million, and each of the Raja Zarith Sofiah Johor State Foundation, the Tunku Laksamana Johor Cancer Foundation, the Sultanah Rogayah Foundation, and the Sultanah Fatimah Foundation received RM1 million each.
