THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY OF THE CELEBRATION OT THE SULTAN OF JOHOR’S BIRTHDAY

The birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, the Sultan of Johor, officially commenced today (15th November) with the Commencement Ceremony held at the Istana Besar, Johor Bahru.
The ceremony was completed with the raising of the Johor State Royal Flag at 9.00 am.
The ceremony began with a procession bringing in the flag to the Memorial Monument of Istana Besar by 10 members of the Johor Royal Bodyguards (ATSN), followed by a flag-tying ritual.
The flag-raising ceremony commenced with a prayer recited by Dato’ Yahya Ahmad, the Mufti of Johor, followed by a ceremonial declaration by Dato’ Ismail Karim, the Chief of Ceremonies.
In the declaration, Dato’ Ismail announced that the flag would be flown throughout the celebration of the Sultan of Johor’s Birthday.
The Commencement Ceremony was also accompanied by a military band and a seven-gun salute by the ATSN.
The ceremonial event was attended by Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the Chief Minister of Johor, and Dato’ Abdul Rahim Ramli, the President of the Johor Royal Council, along with the highest leadership of the Johor State Government and department heads.
The last Commencement Ceremony was held in March 2019.
