‘ZIARAH KASIH’ PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PRESENTATION OF DYAM TUNKU MAHKOTA JOHOR’S GIFT CONTRIBUTION FOR MAY PHASE 2, YEAR 2021 JOHOR BAHRU DISTRICT

  1. The first recipient is a 37 -year -old housewife who has been suffering from chronic diabetes since before marriage. She also suffered from pneumonia and heart disease since 2019. In 2020, her left leg had to be amputated up to the level of the thigh as a result of her chronic diabetes. Movement and self-management had to be assisted by the husband who runs a part-time business online from home by selling phone sim cards and snacks (crunchy lungs) as well as bearing 2 children aged 7 and 9 years. She had applied for SOCSO assistance but was rejected due to insufficient contribution. These recipients receive treatment at Sultanah Aminah Hospital every month and some receive Child Assistance from JKM of RM300 per month. Apart from that, her siblings also contributed financially with an estimated RM600 per month to ease the burden. They live in the ancestral home of the husband’s family.
  2. The second recipient aged 26 had a road accident in 2015 causing 3 fractures of the left leg up to the waist. As a result of the accident, he could not sit or stand for too long to this day and caused him to be unable to work. All self -management is taken care of entirely by his mother who also suffers from health problems such as stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure and has just undergone eyelid removal surgery and eye lens installation. His father, a retiree, also suffers from Alzheimer’s and prostate health problems. These recipients receive assistance from the Social Welfare Department of RM300 per month.
  3. The third recipient is a homeless disabled person who has suffered from Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus since childhood. One of his brain channels was blocked and he underwent surgery when he was 2 months old to prevent his head from growing. Due to his health problems, all his personal needs were taken care of by his mother who was not working. He also has to drink special milk through a tube and use disposable diapers which cost up to RM1500 per month. His father is a retiree and has to use his pension money every month to buy milk and diapers in addition to supporting and supporting the family. These recipients also receive assistance from the Social Welfare Department of RM300 per month.

Yang Berhormat Dato ‘Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Salleh, Johor Bahru District Officer completed the handing over of gifts to the three nominees.

He was also accompanied by the Johor Bahru District Social Welfare Department, Johor Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ), Penghulu Tinggi, Penghulu Mukim and Ketua Kampung.
