RELIEF FOR THUNDERSTORM VICTIMS IN TANJUNG SEDILI

July 24, 2021

I am aware of the storm that happened yesterday at Tanjung Sedili. It’s sad to hear how bad the damage was in the area, where a total of 291 households were affected by this natural disaster.

I have made a personal contribution for immediate distribution to all 291 families affected by this storm. I have also been informed that the Johor state government has provided a Temporary Evacuation Center for those affected and extended assistance in the form of food baskets and donations to repair the damaged houses. YAB Menteri Besar of Johor has also announced an allocation of RM4.5 million to RM5 million for the purpose of helping the Tanjung Sedili community. The Social Welfare Department and the Johor Islamic Religious Council have also contributed to those affected. Congratulations and well done for their concern and prompt response.

The Southern Volunteers have also been mobilised around Tanjung Sedili to assist in recovery efforts and distribution of donations. I hope that these aids and donations can ease the victims’ burden and they can return home in the near future.

Let’s pray that all relief and disaster management efforts will be facilitated.
