The Bangsa Johor Vaccination Registration Programme on 8-10 July 2021 that was carried out by Johor district office with help from the Southern Volunteers provided assistance for residents in rural areas to register for vaccines in an effort to meet the registration target. Besides the vaccine registration, food and welfare assistance were distributed to Bangsa Johor. May the work of the frontliners and volunteers go smoothly.

I would like to share with my fellow Johoreans that 1.293 million vaccine doses will arrive in July 2021 through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK). This 1.293 million doses will comprise of 583k Pfizer, 637k Sinovac and 73k AstraZeneca vaccines. Syukur Alhamdulillah, 284,496 people have been registered by the Southern Volunteers for the Vaccination Registration Programme in the past two weeks. I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved including the Southern Volunteers who have worked together tirelessly to help the rakyat. The Covid-19 vaccination registration effort for Bangsa Johor was continued by Johor district offices with assistance from the Southern Volunteers on 7 July 2021. The registration was the first step in ensuring Johor would achieve herd immunity. May the Covid-19 vaccination registration effort and the distribution of aid and food help Bangsa Johor.

Southern Volunteers continued their cooperation with the district offices in Johor to help Johoreans register for the vaccine on 5 & 6 July 2021. Their collaboration in the Vaccination Registration Process will contribute to the success of achieving a target of 80% of Johoreans registered for the vaccine by the end of this month. Some 234,867 Johoreans have been registered with the help of Southern Volunteers since the program began on 19 June.

According to a recent report, there are more than 500 homeless people living in Johor Bahru. I have decreed for the construction of the homeless transit centre in Johor Bahru to be expedited so that the homeless can have a more comfortable place to live and assistance in terms of food and health can be provided to them. During this Covid-19 pandemic, homeless people are among the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 virus infection because they are forced to live by the roadside or in public areas.
